In the Life” Sexual Abuse/Assault/Trafficking Conference for Victims and Survivors of Trauma A Roadmap to Clinical Intervention
Our objective for the ” In the Life” Sexual Abuse/Assault/Trafficking Conference for Victims and Survivors of Trauma, A Roadmap to Clinical Intervention Conference is to bring public awareness to the discrimination and biases surrounding victims and survivors of sexual abuse/assault, and promote equality for all. In addition, by sponsoring the conference we will be able to provide educational tools to the participants to combat this horrific epidemic. According to White House, college women are the most at-risk for rape and sexual assault. The report, “Rape and Sexual Assault: A Renewed Call to Action,” says that 1 in 5 women have been sexually assaulted at college but that only 12% of student victims report the assault. The National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC) reports, 41% of sex trafficking cases and 20% of labor trafficking cases referenced U.S. citizens as victims. Women were referenced as victims in 85% of sex trafficking cases, and men in 40% of labor trafficking cases.
